My Days in Nature
There are two opposing feelings within me
The first feeling is one of being protected and sheltered in love and energy. Nothing can describe the pleasantness of a pristine morning when the first rays of sunlight shine through the leaves and absorb the energy of the plants and my encounters with animals in unexpected situations, like a sunrise over the sea and flying fish leaping above the water, sleeping on an ox cart, sleeping among peacocks, etc. I always feel a sense of wonder and a strange feeling of gratitude on this planet. And that is the feeling I want to sanctify because I don’t know how to express the glorious connection I experience in nature.
The second feeling is one of extreme unease and anxiety because the grandeur of nature can overwhelm or suffocate humanity. I have spent nights in the forest, and the sudden sounds of animals, or natural phenomena in the night forest, have made me humble and selfless.
I am nobody when I stand before my connection with nature.
But I’ve been thinking, perhaps rightly or wrongly: many other artists and I have been chosen as a bridge between humanity and the natural world, to spread a true love that transcends human love and extends to a broader love for this planet and the universe. And at the same time, we are also a bridge to express the majesty and awe-inspiring nature and the universe. But I feel that, for me personally… the terrifying things that nature conveys, in a way, protect them. Humans must fear to avoid exceeding the limits of nature; they must fear the gods of nature to prevent destroying it. Their great love is accompanied by deterrence. Nature is generous to us, but we must always be grateful and appreciate its kindness. Once we indulge in all kinds of human pleasures without considering nature, we are gradually suffocating ourselves.
